Eczema

Eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis, is a chronic inflammatory skin condition characterized by red, itchy, and inflamed patches on the skin. The exact cause of eczema is not fully understood, but it is believed to result from a combination of genetic, immune system, and environmental factors. Here are some potential reasons that may contribute to the development of eczema:

  1. Genetic Factors: Eczema tends to run in families, suggesting a genetic predisposition. Certain gene variations are associated with an increased risk of developing eczema. However, having these genes doesn't guarantee that eczema will develop, as other factors also play a role.
  2. Impaired Skin Barrier Function: People with eczema often have a compromised skin barrier, which allows moisture to escape and irritants to penetrate the skin more easily. This can lead to dryness, sensitivity, and increased susceptibility to triggers that cause inflammation.
  3. Immune System Dysfunction: Eczema is considered an immune-mediated condition. It is thought that an overactive immune response and an imbalance in immune cells and signaling molecules contribute to the development of eczema. This abnormal immune response can trigger inflammation in the skin.
  4. Environmental Triggers: Various environmental factors can exacerbate eczema symptoms or trigger flare-ups. These may include irritants such as soaps, detergents, certain fabrics, harsh chemicals, and allergens like pollen, dust mites, pet dander, or certain foods. Climate changes, temperature extremes, and low humidity can also impact the skin.
  5. Allergies and Sensitivities: Eczema is often associated with other allergic conditions, such as asthma and hay fever. People with eczema may have hypersensitivity reactions to certain allergens or substances, leading to skin inflammation and itching.
  6. Stress and Emotional Factors: Emotional stress and anxiety can worsen eczema symptoms or trigger flare-ups. Stress can affect the immune system and disrupt the skin's natural barrier function, making it more susceptible to inflammation.

It's important to note that the causes and triggers of eczema can vary from person to person. Identifying and avoiding specific triggers, managing stress, maintaining proper skin care, and seeking appropriate medical treatment are key in managing eczema symptoms.

Glad skin Eczema cream

Many years ago, I found it for my daughter's eczema. It worked really well for her. Since then, I will ask my  patients to try it first.

Gladskin Eczema Cream is a topical skincare product specifically formulated for individuals with eczema. It is designed to help manage and alleviate the symptoms associated with eczema, such as redness, itching, dryness, and inflammation. The key feature of Gladskin Eczema Cream is its use of a patented active ingredient called Staphefekt™.

Staphefekt™ is an enzyme that targets and eliminates a specific type of bacteria called Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus). In individuals with eczema, there is often an overgrowth of S. aureus bacteria on the skin, which can contribute to inflammation and exacerbate eczema symptoms. Gladskin Eczema Cream claims to rebalance the skin microbiome by selectively targeting and neutralizing S. aureus while preserving beneficial bacteria.

It's important to note that while Gladskin Eczema Cream has gained popularity among some individuals with eczema, its effectiveness may vary from person to person. As with any skincare product, it is recommended to perform a patch test.

Additionally, it's worth noting that eczema management often requires a holistic approach that may include other measures such as moisturizing, avoiding triggers or irritants, managing stress, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

If you want to do acupuncture to help you allergies or/and stress, you are more than welcome.
